Create perfect indoor outdoor flow and increase your floor space for sunny days. Decking is a highly attractive solution to creating more living space on Wellington's sloped sites. Southern Light Landscaping source and installs durable and low maintenance options for all deck types and requirements, including fall safety requirements and engineered decks.

Deck Structures

Decks are a great way to extend the living space of your home, and there is no better feeling than taking coffee on the deck, and enjoying the sun on a beautiful morning. We have all sorts of tricks for making it blend with the architecture of your home, whether its a flush-to-the-lawn finish or requires fall protection, we can work with you to make it feel seamless. We offer timber and aluminium framed deck options depending on the application.

We love the systematic approach to building a deck, and you’ll enjoy watching it all come together as much as we do. From set out to screw off, our deck builders are craftsmen and pride themselves on workmanship. We work with Architects and Engineers to provide deck design for projects outside of schedule 1 works. If you already have a design, we are able to provide construction management services and organise LBP sign off.

Options For Decking

Each decking board type and dimension adds a different characteristic to the finished product.

Composite options offer lower maintenance and long lasting results, and are better suited to applications closer to ground level due to their rot resistant properties.

Vitex, purple heart, garapa and kwila are all hard wearing options that are naturally durable and provide a premium finish. Slimmer hardwood boards are an attractive option for decking older villa's and heritage style designs.

Pine is an economic option for surfacing large areas quickly and sustainably.

And of course there is personal preference, talk to us about you want and how your ideal deck might come together in time for next summer.
